The day we started dating!

How We Met

Our journey began in the digital world of online dating, where I first encountered the profile of a breathtaking woman who would soon become my future wife. From the moment I saw her, I knew there was something special about her. Her smile, her eyes, and the way she described herself captivated me instantly.

Our first few conversations were filled with excitement and curiosity, and it wasn't long before we decided to meet in person. Living three hours apart, with me in Lake Jackson and her in Austin, meant that our weekends were dedicated to long drives and cherished moments together. Every Friday, I would eagerly pack my bags and hit the road, knowing that a wonderful weekend awaited us. Whether it was exploring new places, enjoying quiet dinners, or simply spending time together, those weekends became the foundation of our relationship.

As we spent more time together, I realized that everything about her made me know she was the one. Her love for her family and friends, her apologetic nature, and her ability to listen and be there for others were qualities that I deeply admired. I could envision her as the loving mother of our future children, and even though we don't have kids yet, we both dream of starting a family together.

One of the things I love most about her is how we can enjoy each other's company no matter what we're doing. Whether it's a quiet evening at home or an adventurous day out, being with her makes every moment special. Our shared interests and the simple joy of being together have strengthened our bond and made our relationship truly unique.

As we look ahead, we are filled with excitement about the future we will create together. We dream of having children, growing old side by side, and eventually becoming grandparents. Our vision includes living on a ranch with some property, where we can immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature and create lasting memories with our family.

"Our story is one of love, commitment, and the promise of a beautiful future. As we embark on this new chapter of our lives, we are grateful for the journey that brought us together and look forward to the adventures that lie ahead." - Unknown

The Proposal

The proposal was a magical moment that took place in a park in Round Rock, Texas. It was supposed to rain that day, and the sky looked ominous as I set up the proposal. But as soon as Kylie arrived, the rain stopped, and the sun began to shine. I had enlisted the help of her best friends, who are also her bridesmaids, her mom, and my mom to make the surprise perfect. It was February 2nd, 2024, after work, and I had been thinking about the proposal all day, showing the ring to my manager and coworkers.

While we were at work, her coworkers came up with a scheme to keep her distracted and unaware of the events. They told her that they should all go out for drinks after work and grab dinner. Kylie texted me, inviting me to join them, and I said sure. She then asked if we could swap vehicles and I drive to the restaurant in her vehicle, leaving my truck at her school. This caused me to forget the ring in my truck, which was parked at her school.

I arrived at the park after swapping vehicles, changed from my work clothes into nice clothes, and grabbed the candles, flower petals, and a bouquet of flowers. Myself and Sidney, her Matron of Honor, decorated the park where I planned to propose. Strangers in the park were all smiling, happy, and congratulating me before I had even proposed.

Meanwhile, Amy, one of her bridesmaids, was driving Kylie around, taking her "shortcuts" to keep her occupied. Sam, another bridesmaid, was in the backseat, giving me updates on their whereabouts. Sam texted me saying they were about to pull into the park when it dawned on me that I didn't have the ring. I panicked and left the park in a hurry to go back to the school.

Hayden, one of her coworker's husbands, found out about my predicament and called me to help calm me down and give me a level head. Meanwhile, I was driving like a bat out of hell to get to the school, grab the ring, and get back to the park as fast as I could. Hayden's support meant a lot to me as I sped back to the school to get the ring.

Sam and Amy stalled, waiting for me to return to the park before heading in. They pulled into the park, and Kylie's mom, Kassandra, hid under an umbrella so Kylie wouldn't see her. Her coworkers forced her out of the car, and Kylie, unsure why she was getting out at the park, was surprised when her mom revealed herself from behind the umbrella. They embraced in a hug and shed some tears. At this point, I'm 100% positive Kylie was aware of what was going on and about to happen.

Kylie and her mom walked down the sidewalk on top of the flower petals and by the candles, then walked over to me. Her mom handed her off to me, and although I don't remember what I said, I guided her to the center of the park area where I had planned to get on one knee. I was so nervous and not thinking clearly that I tried giving the ring to Kylie's right hand instead of her left. Kylie adjusted by pulling that hand back and giving her left hand instead so I could put the ring on the correct hand and finger.

She said yes, obviously, and then we took photos at the park. Afterward, we went to the restaurant and celebrated with the rest of my family, her coworkers, and friends. The joy and excitement on Kylie's face when she saw everyone there was priceless. It was a moment filled with love, happiness, and the promise of a beautiful future together.
